I have always felt a strong pull to the beach, it’s my happy place for sure. It must be embedded in us from childhood, that pure excitement of running onto the beach with your bucket and spade, that feeling never really fades does it? The fresh salty sea air, the comforting feeling of sand beneath your feet, and the sound of the ocean waves.
As a photography artist and Dorset maternity photographer, the beach is where I feel most in tune with my creativity. I adore the minimalist backdrop, with the soft tones of the natural elements that allow for all of the focus to gently fall on you and your baby bump.
I always shoot maternity photography in Dorset during golden hour. The hour after sunrise or the hour before sunset, it gives us the most beautiful soft and flattering light.
