Most of my maternity shoots naturally gravitate to the beach. There’s something so calm and grounding about being by the sea.

I adore the minimalist backdrop, with the soft tones of the sand and the natural elements that allow for all of the focus to remain on you and your bump. I couldn’t imagine a more peaceful and beautiful setting to capture this chapter, than an evening by the ocean. It’s the most wonderful and memorable experience, it’s a moment to slow down, breathe deeply, connect with your baby and take it all in before your world shifts in the most incredible way.

Dorset beach maternity photography

I’m a maternity photographer based in Southampton, but Dorset beaches are where my heart and most of my sessions are at. It’s the location to adventure to for golden sand and dunes to nestle in. Most of my clients will travel from Hampshire and surrounding areas, or live local to Dorset.

Maternity photography FAQs

I usually suggest booking your session between 28 and 34 weeks. It’s a time when most mums are still feeling comfortable, and it gives us plenty of space before your due date to make the session relaxed and enjoyable.
Please get in contact after your 12 or 20 week scan to book. Booking is advised as soon as you decide you’d love a maternity shoot, to ensure my availability.
A 20% deposit secures your booking, with the remaining balance payable on the day of your shoot.
I sure do. My client wardrobe features a carefully curated collection of beautiful dresses sourced from all over the world, with styles and sizes to suit all pregnant mothers. Once your session is booked, you’ll receive a photo guide of the wardrobe, along with clothing and styling inspiration to help everyone feel confident and prepared for the shoot.
Definitely yes. I love meeting and photographing the babies I’ve already captured during pregnancy, it’s always a full circle moment. When you book both your maternity and newborn sessions together, I offer a 10% discount as a thank you.
Light rain can be beautiful, especially at the beach, adding an atmospheric feel to your photos, so we’re often able to continue. If there’s heavy rain, we’ll reschedule to the next convenient date as soon as possible.
Yes, absolutely. When you receive your online gallery (approximately 3–4 weeks after your shoot), you’ll have the option to purchase a range of beautiful add-on products for your home or as gifts for family and friends. You can also choose to upgrade to the full digital gallery for £150.
